What it means for your advertising
People keep their LinkedIn profiles up to date with what they do and where, so LinkedIn can target by role in a way other channels can't. The options include job title, job function, seniority, company size, industry, a list of named companies, skills and groups.
It suits selling to businesses, where the buyer is a job rather than a type of person: the office manager, the finance director, the head of HR. That precision costs more, and LinkedIn has the highest minimum of our channels at £30 a day.
Location on LinkedIn goes to regions and cities, not postcodes. Stack too many filters and the audience gets too small to deliver, so each one has to earn its place. It's the LinkedIn side of audience targeting.
An example
Java Roasters targets office and facilities managers, and heads of operations, at professional services and technology firms of 51 to 500 people in Manchester and the North West. A list of 40 named local firms it would like as clients sits alongside.
Java Roasters is a fictional business, and its figures are illustrative.
How we handle it
Our team sets up professional targeting on LinkedIn from the customer you describe in your plan; the Guru doesn't send it automatically. More on LinkedIn advertising.
